IP blocked?

If your website is down and you cannot see our website www.platywebs.com.au (Brisbane server), or www.platypuswebsites.com.au (Sydney server),  but there is no announcement on this website about your server, then it’s possible that your IP address has been blocked by a server’s firewall.

If your ISP gives you a dynamic IP address, then you can change this by just switching off your modem/router for 30 seconds.

If you have a fixed IP address, email us the IP address to get it unblocked. To find out your IP address go to www.whatip.com or www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com.au

Do that before you email us. Don’t phone without the IP address.

Often the reason is found to be someone attempting to login to FTP or cpanel or email several times with the wrong login or password. If this is you, remember that if it doesn’t work the first time then it won’t work the next five times either.

Or it could be several computers or smart phones are trying to access your mail at the same time, (You can setup Outlook to check  email every 10 minutes or so),

If you immitate a hacker then you will be blocked.

Get us to reset your cpanel/FTP password.
You can reset your own email passwords in cpanel.
